Its what you deserve!Muscle Recovery
Montmorency Tart Cherries are a super fruit. The tart cherry juice is rapidly gaining popularity among the elite athletes and recreational exercisers as a recovery drink. [1] Positive results have been found with long distance running, cycling, sprinting, field sports and strength training. [2] A Professional soccer team from the UK reported that its study participants (aged 21-29) experienced increased agility, less muscle soreness, faster recovery, and a decrease in key inflammatory markers (interleukin-6). [3] Additional participants in a study performed at Texas A&M with triathletes experienced lower markers of muscle damage and inflammation, an increase of peak power by 9.5%, and a 10% increase in sprint times with no impact on time to exhaustion.

Sleep-Aid
Tired of tossing and turning or waking up still exhausted or if your just looking for a better nights sleep? Montmorency Tart Cherries are one of a few food sources that produce high levels of melatonin. Melatonin is produced by the pineal gland and helps to regulate our circadian rhythm (our biological clock). [1] Research has shown that they may aid in the duration and quality of sleep, insomnia, and sleep efficiency. Preliminary studies have shown an increase of circulating melatonin by 5-6% and an increase in sleep duration by 30-60 minutes depending on your age for both men and women. [2] Additionally, an increased level of melatonin (anti-oxidants) in the blood has been related to the disruption of aging, decreasing stress levels, and even reducing the affects of Jet lag… thus overall improving cognitive function.

Anti-Inflammatory
A table spoon of montmorency tart cherry juice a day to keep the doctor away! What was once thought to be folklore now has the backing of scientific data reviewed and approved by the USDA. The montmorency tart cherry juice (concentrate) is a great natural supplement to relieve and reduce flare ups of gout and arthritis. [1] Studies have shown a 15% reduction in Uric Acid levels, as well as decreased inflammatory markers such as nitric oxide and the C-reactive protein. [2] In combination with other anti-gout-drugs the risk of gout attacks was reduced by 75%. Additional studies have indicated that the antioxidant compounds in the tart cherries may be ten times stronger than Aspirin or ibuprofen in relieving arthritic pain.

Gut Health
[1] Tart cherries have been reported to exert potential health benefits attributed to their specific and abundant polyphenol content. Tart cherry concentrate juices were found to contain expected abundances of anthocyanins (cyanidin-glycosylrutinoside) and flavonoids (quercetin-rutinoside) and high amounts of chlorogenic and neochlorogenic acids. Targeted metabolomics confirmed that gut microbes were able to degrade those polyphenols mainly to 4-hydroxyphenylpropionic acids and to lower amounts of epicatechin and 4-hydroxybenzoic acids. Tart cherries were found to induce a large increase of Bacteroides in vitro, likely due to the input of polysaccharides, but prebiotic effect was also suggested by Bifidobacterium increase from chlorogenic acid

Heart Healthy
Tart cherries have demonstrates several positive benefits for overall cardiovascular health and wellness including reducing blood pressure and cholesterol levels thus reducing the risk for potential heart disease. [1] Preliminary studies have demonstrated a reduction in systolic and diastolic blood pressure within both men and women who have elevated blood pressure. [2] A separate study by the University of Delaware showed a reduction in total cholesterol including “bad” or LDL Cholesterol in the patients with elevated LDL levels.
